Laverton

A new data centre offering capacity for critical infrastructure, government and essential services.

About the project

In response to growing customer demand for secure and resilient digital infrastructure, CDC is developing a new data centre campus in Laverton, in Melbourne’s west. Construction commenced in 2025 and is building on CDC’s existing presence in Victoria.

CDC's Laverton campus will provide secure, reliable and connected data capacity to support customers across critical infrastructure, government, research and education, technology and other sectors that rely on digital infrastructure.

The facility is being designed with water efficiency at its core. Once filled, CDC’s closed-loop cooling systems consume no water for ongoing primary cooling.

The project represents a significant long-term investment in Melbourne’s west, with more than $2.7 billion expected to be injected into the economy during construction. Its development and operation will generate thousands of jobs across construction, engineering, manufacturing, equipment hire, security, facilities management, trades and professional services.
