Gregadoo, Wagga Wagga

A new data centre for the Riverina to support mission critical systems and provide an opportunity to strengthen the digital backbone across regional NSW.

About the potential project

CDC is exploring the opportunity to build a new data centre within an established industrial and waste‑management cluster in Gregadoo, on the south‑eastern edge of Wagga Wagga.

Right now, we are in the concept phase. In this phase we are undertaking a series of independent technical assessments and working with Wagga Wagga City Council, NSW Planning and the local community to understand more about the potential impacts and benefits of a new data centre in the region.

A CDC data centre in Gregadoo would provide essential and secure data capacity to support the Riverina and NSW more broadly and position the region as a key part of Australia's digital economy.

The project could bring hundreds of new jobs to Wagga Wagga during construction and ongoing skilled employment opportunities once operational. We are working to understand and mitigate any impacts on accommodation availability, so new jobs don't have a downwards pressure on existing housing stock in the region.

Importantly, a CDC data centre does not consume water for primary cooling purposes so will not be drawing on water from local Riverina supplies.
